Called to rest many times and am now in yet another season of it. Can be tough. Still need to pay the bills, after all. But God’s got us. Trusting Him.
Wow, what a story, and a testimony. You are lucky to be alive, although luck had nothing to do with it, the Lord protected you and forced you to go through a difficult trial. He always uses these things for our growth and drawing closer to him. I will be praying for your recovery, and look forward to the evermore funky St Jezzer…
This is SO good. Thank you. I had just run my first (and only) half-marathon in 2015 when I found out the pain I was having was due to one herniated and two bulging discs. That was the end of running for me, a recently-formed passion. I was devastated and in both mental and physical pain.
The Lord showed me in that time that I’d made running an idol. An ugly idol wrapped in a healthy habit. 😫 Not only did He slow me down and redirect me, He gave me that awful, painful time of recovery as a window to rediscover my passion and gift for writing. It has changed my life.
That led to me going to a Christian writers’ conference where I met some folks who would become some of my dearest friends and part of my writerly tribe.
God specializes in beautify for ashes and rest by strange means. And a shout of praise God and thank You is my reply. 💚🌱🪴
Praise God you’re ok. What a beautiful attitude. I can’t say all of my rest periods have been graciously received! I am definitely learning that the more I rest, the more God works. Thanks for sharing.
I can’t believe you said you would walk to the ambulance 😭 omg I started laughing! I loved this so much. What a beautiful way to recognize God… also so thankful you’re ok!
I know! I'm so eccentrically British, I hate putting other people out. I couldn't see what a mess my face was in, but they could, which is probably why they insisted...

You might even say you got a crash course in resting 😂
That's a smashing joke...
You were bus-ted for not getting enough rest … ok, back to my cave
